Fredriksen admits international defeat

Post by Craitman »

Injured striker Tór Fredriksen has announced his retirement from international football. The ZK forward is currently recovering from a severe ankle injury he received in his last international outing against Jingdao in June of last year, but is expected to return to action for his club side later this month. The 32 year-old, however, has resigned himself to focusing on domestic duties and has requested to not be considered for the national team again. He ends his senior international career, which he began in 2012 after winning the 2007 Under-21 World Cup in his youth, with nine goals from 27 caps, with a Treesian Memorial Cup winner's medal and two World Cup squad appearances as notable highlights.

If he wants he is welcome to play for a Florian team in the near future.

I'm sure he'll consider his options once the season's over, should there be no lasting issues from his recovery...
