A word about a treaty, Your Highness

Post by Yulodion E'nothwocep »

Your Highness King Craitman,

I know I am not a citizen of Craitland, but my company has quite
a few operations under way here. Therefore, my good friend and mentor
Thadeus Lange Jr has asked me to lobby the Throne about signing
a treaty which he has drafted and presented to the members of
the Micras Treaty Organization, and I have agreed. The Treaty
pertains to character registries and is available here:

http://hub.mn/forum/viewtopic.php?f=101&t=8320

He says that time of the essence and urges swift signing by all
member nations.

As for me I am only interested in the business implications.
If we have fake characters roaming around wreaking havoc,
that is bad for CWG. That means it is bad for my shareholders,
which is bad for my pocketbook. I am an Arkon, therefore I
deserve to be rich. (The likewise could be said for you, Your
Highness.)

Evermore in Awe,

Mr Ergonak,

While I appreciate your efforts in passing Mr Lange's message on to me, I must take issue with one thing.

You begin your letter by stating you are not a citizen of Craitland, and I believe it is here where the fundamental misunderstanding occurs. Were you a Craitish citizen, I am certain you would be aware that Craitland is not, and never has been, a member nation of the MTO, and therefore could not possibly partake in the signing of the aforementioned treaty.

Another trait you may possibly be missing is that of the Craitish community spirit, as I do not believe a true Crait would speak about a person "deserving" to be rich based on title, rank or position, but that is my personal opinion.

Please can you inform Mr Lange that for a more competent running of his organisation, it would be shrewd of him to actually know who he works with before urging actions from people.

Your Highness,

I apologize for any misunderstanding.

I am not a diplomat and have not been trained in how to please
Kings and Ambassadors. Thadeus should not have sent me to do
this task for him. He should have sent his cousin Roberto or
assigned someone else.

When we get our cellular regeneration clinics up and running again--
here is a voucher for you or one of the members of your family
to have a full upwork worth 20 more years of life!

Signed,

Hello,

Your Highness, never mind about that treaty. We were
confused and thought that the mighty nation of Craitland
was a member of the MTO. The treaty we think still has
merit for all nations. However we are also now looking
at alternatives to a treaty, such as Nathan of Natopia has
proposed.

Ever in Awe at Your Great Highness,

Roberto Melanje

P.S. If you need anything from the Melanje family or SciIntOrg,
we are, to the extent we have operations in New Vaduz, your
humble servant. =p

Mr Ergonak,

Please, no apology needed. As you stated, you are not a diplomat. We all have our own areas of expertise; you would certainly not want me working on genetic research, I'm sure.

I shall be certain to let the Prince of New Vaduz, my brother, know about your generous offer of that voucher - he is rather self-conscious about his ageing appearance!

Mr Melanje,

Welcome to Craitland!

In actuality, I agree with the sentiment behind the treaty proposal and that it has merit in light of certain unwanted occurrences which could have arguably been avoided if such a register were enforced. Albeit depending on the means of usage of that list, may I suggest that maybe an overseeing organisation for the standardisation of recwarring on Micras would be the most suitable for keeping track of nation's representatives by name, as opposed to organisations with limited membership?

I shall apologise in advance if that suggestion is short-sighted; admittedly as a pacifistic nation, we Craits are not the most knowledgeable about recwar nor its general modus operandi, so my idea may be impossible to implement for all I am aware.
