From the Hamlet's Lanes through Rolling Hills to the Bank of the Mighty River, Heed these Words. I, Duke and Count of the Ducal County do Hereby Decree the Following upon the Peoples of Ran:
That as Count of Ran I intend to begin work on the development of this good County,
That my usual obsession with pretty symbols applies, and as such a flag and seal is hereby assigned to the County,
That the Flag of Ran shall be partied by a strip of black and white check from the lower leftmost to the upper-rightmost (in honour of Mr. Dansin), the upper field being red and the lower field being green, upon the red of which is the Ducal Crown of Goldshire,
And that the Seal of Ran shall consist of a wreath of dandelion leaf, within which is a dandelion flower on a stalk accompanied by a bubble each side (The concoction used to vanquish Dansin's monstrous foe) upon all of which is the Ducal Crown of Goldshire.
By My Hand from the Seat of the Shire, this Decree is Rendered unto Rannish Statute this Year Five Thousand One Hundred and Fifty Ab Sectora Condita.
Mo'll be Praised.
