[Minarboria] A Query

From the Shrubbery of Her Imperial Jolliness the Empress Lyssansa and her Necrarchs, greetings!

The Empire of Minarboria wishes to enquire with the court of His Niftiness the Kaiser about the present policy of Shireroth's Imperial Government toward Minarboria.

The Shrubbery has become aware that a major organ of Shirerithian state, the Ministry of Military Affairs - in tandem with affiliates located mainly in Elwynn such as the Nationalist & Humanist Party and the Dark Orchid Society - is presently engaged in the systematic reframing of Minarboria as an existential threat to Shireroth equal or greater than that posed until recently by the Jingdaoese Empire. The Ministry has, in recent times, become increasingly populated by those who openly cite Minarboria's high proportion of posthuman inhabitants as a degenerate affront to humanity requiring eradication by military means. What began as a doctrinal quirk of the Rrakanychan Watch appears to have gained traction to become de facto Imperial policy; most recently demonstrated by the central role of said unit in a preparatory rehearsal for full-scale armed conflict with the Garden of Shrubdom, as well as the inculcation of the Shirerithian people to the desirability of Minarboria's annihilation through the medium of prime-time Elwynnese television.

The occurrence of these developments in spite of previously good relations between the MoMA and the Shrubbery, and the general absence on Minarboria's part of any behaviour which could be construed as materially threatening to Shireroth, is the source of much befuddlement and discombobulation within the phylactery of Minarborian state.

In isolation these elements are of little concern to Minarboria, as a firm believer in the self-determination of nations. Together however, it is clear that a large portion of the Shirerithian government, at the very least, desires an end to the Shrubly State and the extermination of millions from its population. Although the Garden of the Shrub-God prides itself on maintaining amiable terms with a wide variety of national ideologies, it has had some difficulty with the idea of a cordial relationship with a nation that specifically wishes to wipe said Garden from the face of Micras.

In light of the above, the Shrubbery would like to enquire whether the policy of righteous genocide against posthumans which is pervasive within His Niftiness' MoMA is the policy of the Shirerithian government generally.

If this is not the case, the Shrubbery would wish to know if His Niftiness has full confidence in advocates of posthuman genocide to administer, develop and command the considerable armed forces at the Imperial Republic's disposal while restraining themselves in accordance with His Niftiness' wishes.

Naturally His Niftiness is under no obligation to answer to Minarboria for events within his realm, and may engage with this query in any manner he sees fit. His Niftiness will understand, however, that the nature of future relations between Shireroth and Minarboria will be heavily determined by his response.

Thank you for your time. May Minarbor's wish for peace prevail.

(OOC from the LOA zone: chill. The long haul military exercise is just going to be a bit of amusement where a bunch of pressganged conscripts and cadets were dumped onto an island to re-enact my favourite parts from those Guinness books of Military Blunders, as such it would only pressage the reform of training in the Imperial Forces. As for a thin expy of Minarboria being the red force in the exercise... well there aren't many convincing alternatives left. Could have resurrected Ashkenatza I guess.

That and the Dark Orchid Society is slated for erradication in-sim in the next month or so too.

Anyway, good to know there is still a readership out there. Cheers.)

To Her Excellency Royana Dolordotch, Third State Arborist of the Empire of Minarboria

A Note of Response

Your Excellency,

Welcome to the Imperial Republic of Shireroth! You, as always, look lovely. Death truly becomes you!

We are most graciously pleased to have the honour to be able to receive you here in the Lands of the Golden Mango Throne, although it would have been Our profound Preference, Wish and Desire that the first visit that you pay to Our Fair Country in this Kaiseral Reign of Ours would be for reasons of joy and not of concern and worry.

Anterior to further responding to Your Excellency's query, We would to signify Our Gratitude to Our Most Dearly Beloved Son and Fruit of Our Valtian Loins, that Most Mighty Prince who is known as His Riverine Majesty the King of Elwynn, for granting Us Leave to officially and en plein publique communicate with you about a certain matter in Elwynn's domestic culture that seems to have caused concern in the Garden of the Shrub God, as well other internal matters of the Coast to Coast Kingdom, which without such Leave are strictly beyond the purview of the Imperial Government of Shireroth.

Owing to the aforesaid Leave We are able to convey to you that ever since certain decrees which were issued during the Reign of Duke Nathan of Elwynn, with the dark days of the Coordinated State as sad exception, non-human sentient beings are considered a full and equal part of the Siblinghood of the Elwynnese Nation and it is the policy of the Elwynnese Government to maintain and further promote Societal Harmony.

Therefore, anyone who dares to demonize, harrass, or harm our Elwynnese non-human sentient brothers and sisters - let alone attempts to make the eradication of non-human sentient beings salonfähig, or promote feelings of ill-will between the various sentient beings - shall feel the sledgehammer of Our Most Dearly Beloved Son's Justice and as a consequence enjoy His hospitality in the Gaol of Dragonsfold. They shall subsequently be dealt with by His Riverine Majesty's Courts, and We guarantee you that justice shall be swift, certain and severe. The same spirit applies to the Imperial Level of Government - that is, of course, where within the purview of the Imperial Government of Shireroth.

As for the Elwnet TV series which is known as Tuuler and Björka in the 25th Century, We earnestly can only say: Isabella will be Isabella!

Our Imperial Cousin Isabella Simrani-Kalirion - who is widely known for her dystopian world view, her cynical wit, and her gallows humour - nowadays works as a consultant and non-executive producer for the Elwnet. The show in its present form is the fruit of her rich - some say way too rich - imagination, which was probably triggered by certain Minarborian writings like this one, where humans are classified as animals, and this one, in which they are branded as servants to the undead elite, stating "the work of Breathers as a loyal servile class to an undead elite requires a regime of rewards to keep them content". To the vast majority of the Elwynnese, however, "Tuuler and Björka in the 25th Century" is just a bit of innocent amusement situated in the very distant future which has totally no bearing on their daily lives and the present political situation.

The military exercise which is known as Operation Long Haul is just what it is: a drill to test the capacities of the Imperial Shirithian Military so that its findings can be used to further improve the Imperial Forces to allow them to even better carry out their noble task of keeping Shireroth safe. No more, no less.

We hope that this writing of Ours shall alleviate your concerns and that Minarboria and Shireroth may move on from this very unfortunate diplomatic incident so that our countries’ interactiions can from now on focus on matters of common concern like the Transamarr situation, and perhaps engage in joint projects to promote understanding and strengthen relations between Minarboria and Shireroth.

________

So Declared in this Six Thousand Two Hundredth Year since the Founding of the Sector by the Hand Imperial of Hjalmar Heirðrson.
Hjalmar Heirðrsson of the Houses of Ayreon-Kalirion and of the Descendants of Freyja
Kaiser of Shireroth

The Shrubbery thanks Your Imperial Niftiness for such a comprehensive response to the Empire of Minarboria's query. Naturally the Empire of Minarboria respects the right of Shirerithians to express the full breadth of their creative ability in entertainment media, and to perform full explorations of hypothetical challenges in the service of ministerial offices. In this instance it has only been the simultaneous activity of multiple entities on a single theme, within so short a time, which has aroused concern in Sansabury.

However, having received Your Niftiness' assurances - and indeed those of His Riverine Majesty the King of Elwynn - the Empire of Minarboria considers its concerns fully addressed and assuaged. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth has, over the ages, seen dramatically varying policies inspired by different occupants of Raynor's Keep; It is the Shrubbery's hope that Your Niftiness' measured outlook is sustained through the reigns of Your Niftiness' successors, permitting the virtues of civility and honesty to flourish across Benacia.

I would also like to thank Your Niftiness for the kind compliments on my appearance. Had I a functioning heart, it would warm to know that one can still get a decent course of subcutaneous infusion in Lichkeep these days.

Yours in Shrubly Satiety,
- R. S. D. D.
