June 2017 Summit
June 2017 Summit
Tomorrow, on the 20th April, the USSO Command Enterprise will be launched and travel across Micras to pick up the dignitaries of the Member States. Observers will be welcome but will have, of course, no final say in the matters that will be discussed (their opinion is of course welcome).
The current program (can still be updated):
1) Opening ceremony with a speech of Chairman Tuân Quân.
2) Election of the new Chairman.
3) Debate concerning the reforms of the Treaty:
3a) Formalising the several kinds of Membership: Members and Observers
3b) Establishment of the Union Forces.
3c) Establishment of Union Military Bases accros Micras
4) Drawing up the map of influence zones (or 'responsibility' zones) --> personally, I propose that military leadership (the high command) during operations in a certain zone go to the nation with responsibility within that region.
5) Google Micras: drawing a more detailed map of Micras (I shall make one based on the height and river map Zibertian is making). Hopefully, by using Google Earth, we can more easily place cities, hamlets, important monuments, wonders and border lines on the map. This is a huge work, but would benefit the cultural development of our members in the long run.
6) Appointment of the Joint Command.
----
I probably forgot some important stuff.

Hear! Hear!
One thing which came to mind: I forgot to add something very important for our Craitish and Gerenian friends: the establishment of an Union Sport tournament.

Re: June 2017 Summit
With the beginning of the momentous first summit held by the USSO, the organisation's Chairman Tuân Quân opened proceedings with a speech in front a large, multinational crowd, filled with dignitaries, press from all over Micras, and members of the general public. Security was heightened, given the summit's importance in the history, and to the future success, of the USSO.
The Xangese Mr Quân, in his now-typical quiet and reserved manner, read from a prepared speech and welcomed all visitors and invited further friends to be a part of the summit's events. His speech, well received by the attending public, outlined the expected procedure of the conference, with major advancements hoped to be made in regards to the coöperation of the USSO's member states and growth of its influence over developing regions of Micras. Emphasising the importance of strong teamwork and shared responsibility, Mr Quân allowed a small grin of optimism from his lips as he described plans for a number of collaborative projects within the USSO; most notably an effort to digitally map Micras to its most detailed point and promote cultural bonds through shared sporting events among member nations.
The most emphatic gestures from Mr Quân came from his passionate support for the revealing and launch of the USSO Command Enterprise; the impressive ship specifically designed for use as the organisation's headquarters. The speech ended effusively with Mr Quân's gratitude for the support he has received during his heading of the USSO, and announced his desire to continue his role; expected clarification ahead of the new Chairman election within the summit's broad scheduling.
With the termination of the speech, which received warm applause, the summit was declared opened.

The representative from Passio-Corum kindly suggests that we open our election for chairman, so that we may begin moving through the rest of our agenda.

As long as we can confirm there are no others names to be put forward for the ballot, I agree with proceeding with this...

Re: June 2017 Summit
Had we commenced the nomination process? It wasn't exactly clear. My impression that the nominating process would be part of the voting process. We would begin nominating after the vote was opened, hence the delay.
With all of that said, Passio-Corum would be happy to put forward its own nominee for Chairman for the upcoming period.

Re: June 2017 Summit
Very little's clear, it seems. I expected nominations to be named following Mr Quân's announcement of standing, then to vote once we had enough relevant candidates

Re: June 2017 Summit
No problem. Let's spend the next day or so on the nomination process starting right now, and then maybe we can vote Monday-Tuesday? That will allow us to press through the agenda by Wednesday, and maybe we can wrap things up by next weekend. Would this work for everyone?

Do we need to have a vote, or are we prepared to move on to addressing the agenda?

"The weekend" can apply to any point in time between Friday night and Sunday night CST, assuming there's no one here who lives west of the Rockies. Relativity and all that stuff.
