Press Releases and Statements of the Ministry of Military Affairs Mission to Goldshire

  1. Declaration of Martial Law in Cabbagefall Area
    Image

"Citizens, Subjects and other assorted lesser dependent persons of Goldshire,

I bring to you the fraternal greetings of your friends and brothers across the Imperial Republic. We may be of different races, religions, cultures and species, we may not even share the common condition of mortality, but today, with you, we are one. We grieve with you, as you grieve with your sovereign, during these dark days that have befallen your Kingdom. We mourn with you the sad passing of Princes Arn and
*pause* Rostam Ayreon-Kalirion. Know now that the Imperial Republic stands with you as your Royal Government seeks to hunt down and bring to justice those traitors who turned their hands so cruelly, and with so little justification, against two defenceless boys. Know too that the blood of the innocents will be repaid a hundred-fold by the blood of the guilty.

    His Imperial Majesty, Kaiser Hjalmar
*pause* Redquill, has, with a patient and sympathetic ear, heard the entreaties of Her Majesty Queen Noor, and, with a burning desire for justice to be done in the name of his slain kinsmen, acceded to the request of Goldshire's Royal Government to dispatch Imperial Forces into your Kingdom to give fraternal aid to the Goldshire Regulars and to the civil power, vested in the Martial Law Administrator, the good Doctor Cryptsinger. Be assured. All will be well. As the age old proverb goes:

We are Shireroth. Time is on our side.

A curfew is now in force in the Cabbagefall area from 1945 to 0645 daily. If you are uncertain, please contact a member of the Imperial Forces for further clarification. If you are a member of a proscribed organisation, or if you know of anyone who is currently or may have been in the past, please contact your local ESB representative to allow for appropriate arrangements to be made. Remember, if you volunteer this information you could earn a community trust award - which is better than the alternative!

On that note, I bid you good night."

A mixed force of 552 B-49 Delta and B-66 Vulcan strategic bombers of the 1st Air Force, hit the steel and iron works of Chryste in three waves between Eljere the 11th and Hyre the 12th of Nomeziooqu, 1641.

Chryste, a city on the southern coast of the county of Elsenar, has developed in recent years into a major hub for the metallurgical and alchemical industries of southern Goldshire and it has attracted a significant amount of overseas investment. This makes it a key component of the military-industrial complex that is sustaining the Army of the Golden Dawn in the field, making it a legitimate target under the rules of war.

Flying out of dispersal airfields in Northern Mishalan, the bomber formations followed the course of the Blue and then the Red Elwynn down to the city of Teldrin where after they turned inland, flying over the rebel held interior of Lunaris, before beginning their final approach to target.

The first wave of bombing with incendiaries began at 22.13 on the night of the 11th and ended by 22.21. At 01.30 the second wave of 240 bombers arrived over the target area to begin their bombing run. Their arrival was timed to disrupt emergecy relief convoys from surrounding towns.

In an inspired piece of precision bombing, 6,464,160 kg of high explosive and incendiary munitions were deployed over the Merjaca occupied iron works. The attacking force flew in strict formation and the resulting bomb patterns excited much admiration back at headquarters. Regretably of course a few stray incendiaries fell off target and sporadically hit residential areas, the campus of the Royal University of Chryste, the streets adjacent to the registered address of the Iron Gazette in the city's commercial district. This colateral damage is deeply regretted and an internal inquiry is underway to learn the necessary lessons and improve the tightness of bomb pattern for future precision raids by our Imperial strategic bomber force.

Although most air defence assets remained in the hands of the Royal Govermnent after the mutiny of the Goldshire Regulars, EA-6B Prowler aircraft of No. 24 Electronic Attack Squadron supported the raid and were engaged in the suppression of enemy air defences in the counties of Ran, Elsenar and Lunaris. Fourteen aircraft were reportedly missing after a suspected Triskelion encounter near Zolt. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

In related developments, carrier based aviation carried out strikes against rebel held naval facilities in Mesior.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Military Affairs said "The overnight raids on Mesior and Chryste clearly demonstrate the determination and resolve of the Imperial Government to end this civil war by compelling both parties back to the negotiating table."

Subjects of Goldshire,

The recent attack on MoMA Station Sabatini necessitates a full and proportionate response of the utmost severity. The guilty parties will be found and made to face the consequences of their actions. There will be no mercy only justice for those implicated in this crime.

An Military Inquisition will be convened to identify and punish all those who were involved in the instigation of this attack and all those who, by their negligence, permitted it to happen. May Mors and Mortis both have mercy on your souls when they find you in the next world for there will be none for you in what precious little remains of your time abiding in this one.

Amnure 19 Qinamu, 1641; Cabbagefall - Denouncing recent violence and increasing tensions in parts of the Counties of Ran, Holwinn and Suthergold, in particular the illegal settlement of Caer Lum'ruush, resulting in the deaths of 25 individuals, the Imperial Forces mission in Goldshire has called for an end to the attacks and reprisals as well as appealed for dialogue to resolve the situation.

At the same time the Mango Rangers detachment garrisoned in Cabbagefall also called upon the local population to exercise restraint and to avoid any escalation of violence.

According to the information received by the MoMA, six rebel security personnel and four civilians were killed yesterday, Hyre 24 Qinamu, in an ambush on the Caer Lum'ruush-Goldshire Hamlet road. Earlier today, Amnure 19 Qinamu, some 15 people were killed and many others wounded in clashes between the Jaysh al-Sathrati and Octalune Travellers near Tyrelwynn, a Rannish river port on the Red Elwynn under the temporary administration of the County of Holwinn, about 169 kilometres south from Caer Lum'ruush, the scene of the initial incident.

Further in the release, the Imperial Forces also condemned an attack by suspected insurgents against its personnel while they were travelling to the RAS airship terminal in Kingsgate.

A seven-year-old child was injured in the attack and was evacuated to Islus in Elwynn for treatment by the Red Orchid Society, the mission added.

The Imperial Forces further noted that it has reinforced its patrols in Kingsgate, Cabbagefall, Tyrelwynn, Teldrin and the connecting roads between those areas and that any further attacks would result in a robust response and proportionate reprisals against those communities deemed responsible.
