Battle of Caldera Unites Brettania

Post by Orion »

After a fierce battle the last stronghold of resistance to Brettish rule - the militant clan known as the Calderii - have fallen to the combined armies of Willowshire, Saxvenus, Hartshire and Calbion. The massive alliance quickly turned the tide in what has been a century-long stalemate, since smaller forces were unable to launch a successful assault on the island of Doyle, where the city of Caldera is situated. Allied forces had earlier retaken Watson and then, at a slower pace, the island of Cornwallis, leaving only Doyle. The desperate Calderii refused to surrender, pushing their soldiers into suicide raids on Brettish armies vastly outnumbering them.

Once a beach-head was established Brettish forces were able to ferry over heavy artillery and begin shelling Caldera. The Calderii forces, already short on supplies, quickly began to falter under the heavy assault. King Landon made a daring move and led a significant army in a direct siege of Caldera, engaging King Morgrieve in his own court. Falling back on hand-to-hand combat in close quarters, King Landon pierced Morgrieve's black heart with his sword, bringing an end to the reign of the Calderii. The remaining enemy forces soon began to surrender following the death of their king, and allied forces immediately began seizing control of the entire island.

With the collapse of Caldera the Brettish Isles have finally been reunited under one banner. After years of clan warfare, stemming back to the Black Plague, Brettania again has one King. While the cost has been high, and victory is sweet, there is still much work to be done, and the Brettish Empire must be rebuilt. The sun still hides behind the horizon, but she shall soon shine on Brettania again, as a new dawn rises!

Could I politely request that civilisation in the restored Kingdom be built around your insider knowledge of barn construction? :herman:

It's good to see the islands united in peace.
