The Cathedral of Basileus Petros III

The Imperial State of Constancia: Benevolent hereditary dictatorship, constitutional monarchy, laissez-faire technocracy, aristocratic corporate state, organized crime family syndicate or liberal autocracy? It depends on the day.

The Cathedral of Basileus Petros III
Seat of the Bosarch of Vey

A small church, but one fitting the small number of Bovics who live in Constancia. Constructed recently, yet reflective of traditional Constancian architecture in the typical Bovic tradition of embracing local culture. The Bosarch of Vey leads a small herd of Constancian and foreign-born Bovics. It is dedicated Basileus Peter III, who graciously allowed Bovics to settle in Constancia.

The Master of the Cathedral of Eternal Slumber, Bosarch Nathaniel of Waffel-Paine, was present at the hand-over ceremony. The construction workers gave the Pentheros the keys.

Nathaniel was looking forward to the dedication service.

The Basileus was also attending the ceremony and he was clearly very touched by the kind words of the Bosarch and the Pantheros. Petros III said that the Bovic people would always find a very warm welcome in Constancia. The Basileus embraced once more his deep belief in the good relationship between the Bovics and the Constancians. He assured that in the face of his kingdom the Bovic people will find a close friend and ally.

As per the official timetable, His Most Bovic Majesty arrived at the Cathedral on the second day of his State Visit. Upon arrival, he was warmly greeted by the Master of the Cathedral, a Constancian of Natopian lineage, who's grandparents had moved many years ago. No information as to what happened inside the Cathedral was released and whatever that was, it was done behind closed doors.

About an hour after the gates of the Cathedral were shut, they were re-opened, revealing the figure of the Natopian Emperor. He made a few steps forward, two steps away from a microphone stand installed earlier that day. After him was the Master, who reached the stand in preparation to make a short public statement.

Seemingly happy (and perhaps slightly more so than from an hour ago), he delivered a short address to the Bovics and the Constancians, praising the religious freedom and values they enjoyed, thanking the Emperor for paying a visit to the Bovics in the Kingdom and hinting that "much more can still be achieved here as well as in the Empire to embrace the two state's common values, beliefs, goals and means to achieve them".

His Most Bovic Majesty then went on to deliver the following speech:

"Our Beloved Bovics,

It is with such pleasure that We have come to meet you today, building upon the strong relationship between the Bovics of Constancia and those of Natopia. We see this visit as especially important considering the difficulty of the situation here. Difficulty which impacts both the non-Bovic Constancian population and the followers of Bous. For these reasons, We believe it is important that the Caprine Throne does not ignore or neglect, but take a strong and stable influencing position, so that peace can be brought to Nivardom and security to the Kingdom.

But there must be no doubt that these cannot be achieved unilaterally and will require immediate as well as long-term action and strategy. The greater risk, however, is that in light of Shireroth's and Alexandria's invitations to the Free Associative Kingdom to become a signatory to the SANE Treaty, the instability and insecurity throughout the Kingdom may easily spread outside its borders. Therefore, in defence of both the SANE's and Constancia's best interests, We advocate for supporting the Kingdom to get through these difficult times and restore its democracy, its people's safety and its territorial integrity. Once this is achieved, We shall strongly support the next step forward towards the final goal of building stronger military ties together.

Going through those times is what Bous has destined us to and with his blessing we shall do so in victory."

Aldin had been hearing reports of increased anti-Bovic and anti-Natopian sentiment in the days following Zakyyr's refusal to invite Constancia into SANE. The Pentheros arrived to give his own speech at the Cathedral after the Emperor's disastrous and unpopular speech.

"My beloved calves. Do not feel anger towards the Church. Do not feel anger toward the Natopian people. We are your friends. We do not share the misguided belief of Emperor Zakyyr. We want to help you! Bovics of Constancia, embrace your countrymen! Let them know that Bous seeks unity, and peace. Bous itself is a union of spiritual parts!

I ask you to consider this parable of the Butter Cow struggling in its own pasture, trapped in a fence, melting in the hot sun. The Butter Spirit descends, offers kind words, giving it hope. The Butter Man walks over now, and grabs a tool to cut the Cow loose, now waiting for the Butter Bull to visit and lend a hand, the final push, to free the Cow from the fence.

Instead, the Butter Bull enters the Cow's pasture, eats its food, sleeps in its barn, and then walks away, telling the Cow to sort itself out.

Now, due to the arrogance of the Butter Bull, Bous is disunited. Cow is trapped, Spirit and Man are distrustful of Bull, and Bull is aloof. None can act until they all act together.

Consider this and you will understand the frustrations of the Natopian people as they stand with you and hope to right this error."

This looks like it would have been a picaresque venue for my upcoming wedding, if only we had not already decided on Langeways!
